Writing Your Birth Plan
If birthing could go exactly the way you planned, what would that look like? Very often, childbirth doesn't go according to "plan," but that doesn't mean that you can't feel prepared. No matter how your baby/babies' birth unfolds, it's a birthday and you, the birthing family, should feel like you have agency and joy in the experience. We'll work together to talk about your ideal birthing experience, and then we'll talk about the factors that may impact your birth experience. Together we'll mindfully craft a document for your care team that will also prepare you and your birth partner for one of the most exciting days of your life.
Becoming a Grandparent
You're becoming a grandparent- congratulations! You've raised children yourself, and now it's time to enjoy one of the most exciting parts of parenting - your baby's baby(ies!) Whether you are in town or across the country, you want to be the most helpful, well informed grandparent possible. During this one-day course, you'll learn how baby care has evolved - from safe sleep to car seat safety, how to support breastfeeding parents and how to bottle feed a baby. Times have changed, but you can be up-to-date and prepared to be the very most helpful grandparent possible.
Feeding Support
Feeding a new baby or babies satisfies their most basic needs, but sometimes feeding doesn’t come easily. Whether you are breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, or dealing with more complex feeding issues, I am here to help. I’m a Lactation Education Counselor and can help with everything from that first latch following birth to fine-tuning feeding after everyone is home together. Whatever your specific need, I am here to provide knowledgeable and compassionate care. Support is offered in your home, birth place, NICU, or wherever you need me.
As a postpartum doula, lactation eductor and fellow twin mom, Julie could answer virtually any question I threw at her. And when she did answer them — or made other suggestions — she did so tenderly and diplomatically. My babies and I loved our time with Julie so much, she became and remains an important part of our lives. — Kari
